Sunil Joshi

Hi, I am Sunil Joshi. I am doing my PhD in Agronomy department, College of Agricultural and Life sciences, University of Florida. I am majoring in Genetics and Molecular Biology and my research focuses on producing transgenic Tifton-85, TifEagle and Sugarcane resistant to Fall Armyworm. I have done my Masters and Bachelors in Plant Breeding and Agriculture (Honors) respectively from Punjab Agricultural University, Punjab, India with my masters research focusing on Genetic studies on Leaf Blight resistance in Durum wheat. I am also the Mayor (part of Mayors council of student government) of Maguire village, an on campus residential complex at University of Florida. My love for fruits particularly citrus fruits brought me in this club couple of years back. Citrus fruits are notable due to fragrance particularly due to flovonoids. I love watching football and am a great Gator fan. I also love soccer and athletics and was best athlete in my high school and undergrad. I am a regular blood donor at the Life South community blood center and love to do community service in my free time.

I am from Clearwater, Florida in Pinellas County. I am a junior in Horticultural Sciences with a specialization in Organic and Sustainable Crop Production. After graduation, I plan to attend graduate school for Agribusiness. I joined the Gator Citrus Club to get more involved in the Horticultural Sciences department, meet other horticulture students and faculty, and to learn about the citrus industry first hand with the annual trip to a citrus producing country. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar and drums, reading, playing golf, and training for triathlons.

Hi friends. Greetings from Bhuvan Pathak. I am a doctoral student in Agronomy Department, University of Florida. My research emphasizes on genetics and molecular mechanism of calcium signaling in peanut seed development. Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked as tenured faculty in Graduate Program of Biotechnology at Charotar Institute of Technology, Changa, Gujarat, India. I did my Masters in Biotechnology and Bachelors in Plant Sciences from Sardar Patel University, Gujarat, India.
