Supplemental Information for Graduate Application
The Horticultural Sciences and Environmental Horticulture Departments are separate administrative units. While the faculty of each department have primary responsibility to the commodity areas served by their respective department, on a larger scale the faculty of each department participate in the joint Horticultural Science Graduate Program. Research efforts and expertise for the Horticultural Sciences Department cover a wide range of edible horticultural crops and utilize techniques and principles of many disciplines.
In order for an applicant to be considered for the graduate program in the Horticultural Sciences Dept., his/her interest must be matched with a faculty member's current research area. The major interdisciplinary strengths in the Horticultural Sciences Department are listed below.
Ph.D. applicants may specify no more than two(2) areas of interest.
M.S. and M.S.(non-thesis) applicants may specify up to three(3) areas of interest.
