Horticultural Sciences
If you are interested in learning more about fruits, vegetables and ornamentals, consider the Horticultural Sciences Minor. This is a flexible program with only 15 required credits allowing students to maximize their electives and do something they really enjoy. Students at the University of Florida are encouraged to minor in horticultural science by completing the following requirements:

Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology
This is an interdisciplinary minor for students desiring specialization in the area of Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology. It is particularly appropriate for students majoring in Horticultural Sciences, Microbiology and Cell Science, Plant Science and all other related fields. This minor will offer students opportunities for academic training and hands-on experience in current laboratory techniques. Students with a science interest will obtain focused training in this minor which should prepare them for graduate school, laboratory positions and the expanding plant biotechnology marketplace.
