The New Program Assistant, Curtis Smyder, Program Assistant, Horticultural Sciences Department, University of Florida – Your Contact for the Vegetarian
Curtis was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in Alachua, Fl. His father and grandfather were both businessmen and farmers. They both preferred farming, although they didn't make as much money in farming as in business. On the family farm beef cattle, mostly Angus, and crops such as corn, sorghum, rye, green beans, were raised.
Curtis graduated from Santa Fe Community College wit an AA then transferred to University of Florida and graduated with a B.S. in Public Relations. In his spare time he enjoys woodworking. He does mostly furniture restoration and repair, but has also built some projects from scratch.
Here in the Horticultural Sciences Department he supports the Extension Programs, serves as the Webmaster for several websites hosted by the department, submits and updates EDIS publications and process travel. He's glad to be here and looks forward to getting to know each of you. Go Gators!
Curtis may be contact at (352) 392-1928 Ext 226 or curtisr@ufl.edu
The best way to be nice to him is to send him your Vegetarian articles on time each month!
