The New Vegetable Production Handbooks are now here
The 2006-2007 edition of the Vegetable Production Handbook is now here. If you would like a copy, please contact Curtis Smyder at (352) 392-1928 Ext. 226 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. The handbook provides up-to-date information on a wide variety of topics in vegetable production and will be of use to those in the vegetable industry or anyone growing vegetables in Florida. Note: the online (EDIS) Version has not yet been updated.
New EDIS Horticulture Publication
"Calibrating Sap-Testing Meters" was just released by EDIS (http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/HS328). This completely new publication was written by David Studstill, Eric Simonne, Robert Hochmuth and Teresa Olczyk and features valuable information on how to use sap-testing meters, where to buy them and other supplies needed. Citrus Pest Management Course Offered This Spring
A Citrus Pest Management course will be offered this spring at the UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) in Lake Alfred for the Spring 2007 term. The Citrus Pest Management is a graduate-level course for students and citrus industry personnel working in the area of pest management. The course reviews the latest tactics and strategies available to manage diseases and arthropod, nematode and weed pests of citrus. Emphasis will be given to techniques by which pest and disease organisms are monitored and how this information is used to effectively manage pests with the least risk to the environment.
